The first pilot project funded by the CRUISSE Network is the study:

Studying Uncertainty in Decision-Making Processes of Rapid Humanitarian Disaster Relief

Tobias Pforr
University of Warwick
September 2017

This collaborative project between the CRUISSE network and the Start Network proposes to evaluate the procedures used by the Start Network in their decision-making processes of delivering rapid humanitarian response. The pilot aims to establish whether procedural improvements based on a more thoroughly articulated and implemented conception of uncertainty can help the Start Network to better fulfil its promise of delivering rapid financial assistance in case of humanitarian crisis and thus to reduce human suffering around the world. The project will also give a first indication as to whether this focus on uncertainty might bear fruits for other business and organisational scenarios.
